Rock Rock till you drop
Rosie's first concert was a blast!
Today was a bit of a milestone, we took Rosie to her first concert. We went to see Laurie Berkner. It was so much fun.
But it was risky. First off, the concert was at 2:00 pm with doors opening at 1:00. This is prime naptime for Rosie, so going to this event surely meant no afternoon nap. We've never attempted something so unprecedented. Second, unfamiliar places and faces are a bit scary for a 10-month old, so that added to the risk.
But Rosie was a champ. During the hour we waited for the concert to start, at a point all the new stuff was just a bit much, so she snuggled under a blanky and nursed. She closed her eyes a couple times, and was clearly in her own little world. What a sweetheart. She never ceases to amaze me, that at her young age she has a strong enough mind to shut out the rest of the world when it gets to be overload (with a little help from the boob of course).
When the show started, she was absolutely hypnotized. Her eyes could not have been wider and her body not more still. The lights, the loud music, the dancing people on stage. She just couldn't believe how amazing it was. Oh and when the crowd applauded -- all those people clapping! She LOVED it!!!
After she got used to the performers, she laid back and relaxed, and soon......

Through all the noise, screaming, and banging, she slept. Again, shutting out the world completely. Only this time, no boob needed.
And the best part was not watching the show, but watching the kids watch the show. Have you ever seen a 3-year-old mosh pit?? Or, a Tosh Pit? It was a riot! Toddlers don't dance when they are that excited, they hop. They hop and hop and hop. I bet their parents are having some nice alone time tonight because those kids never stopped hopping!
