Happy Un-Birthday to Rosie
Well, as of today Rosie has officially been on earth longer than she was in my tummy. It's hard to believe, I mean it seemed like I was pregnant for an eternity (especially between May 17th and May 25th ;-). After what seemed like ages carrying her everywhere I went, feeling her kick every day.... suddenly she is nine 1/2 months old and I don't know where the time went. It's already March. She'll be a year old in 2 1/2 months! That's insane!
But... it's also really cool. Gone are the days of round-the-clock every 2 hour feedings, gone are the days of walking the halls in the middle of the night praying to everything holy that she would just SLEEP for a few moments, gone are the days of floppy-baby who had to be carried and placed where you wanted her. No more baby acne or umbilical cord, no more massive diaper blowouts and 10 poops a day, no more leaky boobs, no more burping, no more bouncing.....
On to the next phase: toddlerdom. Rosie's a crawler now, she knows what she wants and where it is. She pulls herself up to a stand with minimal effort and walks along furniture. She knows exactly what items in the house are not nailed down. If it lifts, turns, slides, or comes off, she's already found it. She loves the outdoors. She's independent. She has a sense of humor like no other, and loves to laugh and laugh some more. She gives kisses. She babbles and practices new sounds and words (like "Hi Dad", and "Trista" (hoping for a Mama soon). She is an explorer and loves to find trouble.

But she still needs her mom and dad. She wakes every night at 3:00 am to be nursed. She eats 4 meals a day, 2 of them with cow's milk, and STILL nurses 6 times a day. She loves to be rocked and nursed to sleep. She is happy to see mom or dad's smiling face in the morning and after naps, and will return your smile with a happy grin and a kiss. She likes to be snuggled when she gets hurt. She loves to be read to. She picks out her own books and knows when to turn the page.
She is one of the sweetest human beings I have ever known.
