Mommy can make diapers too!
I love my new hobby!
So, you know Rosie wears cloth diapers and has now for the last 3 months or so. We really love them, the cloth is so comfy and good for her skin. It stinks less that disposables and the diapers are easy to care for.
But could it get easier? Rosie's current diaper stash pretty much consists of snap diapers. We like them, but velcro is faster and easier. In addition, Rosie's diapers are of the type "pocket diapers." Which I like, because you can stuff them to the absorbency necessary. But what if you didn't have to stuff.... well that could save you a bit of time on laundry day, not to mention, when the stuffing is pee soaked, you have to pull it out. Yes, you have to touch PEE.
Such diapers do exist, and the are called "All In Ones", or AIO as those of us in the know call them. The problem with AIO's is that you are stuck with the absorbency you get, and if you want more you have to lay in a doubler, and doesn't that defeat the purpose of the AIO? And let me tell you something about Rosie's pee. It is EXCESSIVE.
The next problem: Rosie is skinny. She's thin and tall, and just not built for standard cloth diaper sizes.
So what's a crafty mom to do? Why, make her diapers custom made to fit perfect, that's what!
So, I bought a sewing machine and dug through the cobwebs in my head to remember how to use it. My first batch of diapers, well, sucked. They leaked, they were done incorrectly, they didn't fit right... But you know, I'm a smart chickadee, so I figured out the problem.
And my new batch ROCKS! Take a look at what I've been up to:

And do they fit? They are perfect! So trim and cute!

And leak not! These diapers are custom made for the massive amounts of pee that Rosie blesses us with. Easy as pie, you just wash and that's it. They go on as easy as a disposable, and drop them right into the laundry bin when they are dirty. I love my new hobby!
